Mongoi Panau - The Dusun Wedding Tradition

Joyce and Victorius are both of the Dusun ethnic from Tambunan, Sabah.

Although not compulsory, many Dusuns still maintain their wedding tradition of Mongoi Panau. Which directly translates to "Go for a walk" or "Pergi berjalan" in Bahasa. This tradition require the groom to walk from a place to the bride's house. He will then search for the bride in one of the rooms inside the house. Many obstacle will be put by the host though, like riddles, tapai-stop or beer-stop, and anything fun.

As their photographer, I treasure the whole experience of being there. Being able to capture beautiful moments of a couple brings joy in heart.
